Dream interpretation: Losing weight and looking pregnant simultaneously

During a vibrant dream I saw myself in a mirror and my waistline was really slender. It was shrinking before my eyes. I saw myself turning while viewing my profile in the mirror. What did I see?  My lower abdomen was expanding outward as if I were pregnant. It was smooth but expanded. When I awoke, the dream felt significant, so I researched it.

Pregnancy as a dream symbol.

Researching dreams and symbols of Central and Eastern Europe, this is what I learned about the significance of this dream:

In folklore dream interpretation, the sequence can matter, particularly when one condition visibly transforms into another. So rather than reading the two symbols independently, one could read it as:|

A period of reduction or scarcity is passing, and something new is beginning to grow in its place.

Then comes the expansion.

And the expansion wasn't ordinary weight gain. It had the distinctive appearance of pregnancy, while I knew I wasn't pregnant. In traditional European symbolism, that gives the second stage a "something is developing" quality.

So the dream could almost be interpreted as: "The lean period is followed by growth."

Not necessarily a prediction of money

This isn’t a prediction that money specifically will increase. But loss/reduction can be followed by a development or a gain.  This could be a legitimate traditional reading of this dream imagery. There's also something positive about the fact that the rest of me was becoming leaner while the new growth was concentrated in one place. 

Symbolically, it's less like "everything is getting bigger" and more like "the old is being reduced so something specific and new can grow."
