When spirit speaks in symbols

In recent months, the visuals evolving in my meditations are not only different but also changing in their pace and thematic content. Recently I saw two sequences while meditating.

The first visual that appeared slowly before me was a finger pointing directly at me. It was an older finger, similar to the one seen in the military ads in the USA from decades ago which were used to recruit. And then, about 10 or 15 minutes later, I saw a small dog that was doing its business but instead of a number two, a cat landed on the ground. She was small and equal in size to the dog. She immediately meowed and her mouth was small. The scene faded as soon as she meowed.

When spirit speaks in symbols, what is it saying?

The old military recruitment style ("I want YOU") reinforces the idea of being personally addressed or summoned. Even if my subconscious borrowed that familiar visual style, the symbolism is about directness rather than the military itself.

The finger slowly appeared and disappeared and gave the impression of deliberateness rather than urgency or accusation. It's almost as if my subconscious wanted to ensure I noticed what came next.

There was a milky or wispy background and this might be interpreted as a liminal or spiritual space—a place between conscious thought and deeper intuition.

To me (when the spirit speaks in symbols), the message felt like this:

This is for you. Something you've been trying to release or move beyond is actually giving rise to a new insight. Take note. The guidance will be meaningful.

The meditation then shifted into a completely different scene and many minutes past before a new scene arrived.

Symbolic meaning of a dog: A cat that emerges from the dog

A small dog often represents loyalty, instinct, protection, friendship, or a part of yourself that is faithful and uncomplicated. Because it's small, it may point to something that seems minor but is actually important.

Doing his or her business

Trying to push out a number two traditionally symbolizes releasing something I've been holding onto—old emotions, stress, beliefs, or situations that no longer serve me. It's likely a symbol of cleansing or letting go.

A cat emerges

Instead of feces, a cat emerges. Cats often represent intuition, independence, mystery, feminine energy, or hidden knowledge. The fact that the cat is the same size as the dog suggests these two aspects (instinct/loyalty and intuition/independence) are on equal footing.

The cat meows

The cat immediately meows. A meow is communication. It suggests that what I thought I was simply "getting rid of" is actually something that wants to be heard. Rather than waste, what emerges is a message.

The small mouth of the cat

The cat has a small mouth but still delivers a message. This could indicate:

• A quiet voice carrying important truth.

• Subtle intuition that is easy to overlook.

• Someone who doesn't speak loudly but whose words deserve attention.
  

A fast-moving pace

The fast pace of the visual often indicates that events or realizations are unfolding quickly, or that your subconscious wants you to pay attention without delay.

There was also no fear in either animal's eyes. This doesn't feel like a warning symbol. It feels more like a revelation or transformation. The overall message that stayed with me was simple:

Something I believed needed to be discarded is actually transforming into insight. My loyal, practical side (dog) is giving birth to my intuitive side (cat), and that intuition has something to tell me. The message may be quiet rather than dramatic, but it's important and shouldn't be ignored.

Sometimes the most profound guidance doesn't arrive with fanfare. Sometimes it appears quietly, in symbols that seem strange at first, but continue to speak long after the meditation ended. In this particular case, I feel like the message is meaninful because I've been going through a lot of stress recently. I've managed that stress using meditation. I've been trying to evelate my energy to a neutral space and somehow this meditation makes me feel like I've come close to achieving that neutral energy (please see the Map of Consciousness by Dr. Hawkins to understand where neutrality sits from an energetic perspective).
