Reincarnation
Souls, karma & dimensions

Reincarnation comes from the idea that we have an eternal soul and, as a soul, we’re born into new lives. Depending on the religion or the philosophy, there’s a belief that the soul comes to earth many times to learn lessons and evolve.

In the West, the concept of rebirth was discussed in classical Greek philosophy with moments throughout history where westerners have shown interest in reincarnation.

However, reincarnation is not widely accepted in western religions or society. In eastern religions and philosophy – such as Hinduism, Taoism and Buddhism – the concept of rebirth or reincarnation are at the foundation of their beliefs and much of what humans understand and know about reincarnation comes from these religions. In recent years, reincarnation is becoming more accepted in the West.

Since the pandemic in 2020, there’s a particular increased interest in concepts such as reincarnation and what people are calling the spiritual awakening. As the world polarizes socially, politically and economically, many appear to fear for humanity’s future and are seeking a way to manage this fear.  Some are looking to spiritualism for a way to live a better and fuller life.

As a result of all of this, the idea that we’re eternal souls who embark upon an eternal journey is gathering momentum and accelerating in popularity. Though, it hasn’t hit critical mass. The spiritual awakening –  as a movement or belief system – offers an opportunity to see life in a different way. It also offers the opportunity to live a better life with purpose, kindness, love, joy, peace, and understanding.

Soul pods/family & soul groups

Souls belong to a group of about three to 10 souls who came into being about the same time. Often referred to as a soul pod or soul family, these souls share a deep spiritual connection and work together across many lives to learn new lessons and deal with past karma.

As a group, the soul pod belongs to a soul group which is a larger soul unit. The pod is a more intimate smaller subset of the larger soul group. Part of what the soul pod works on together is their karma which manifests across many lives.

At its core, karma is defined by the universal law of cause and effect. Every action, whether good or bad, generates a reaction that'll eventually return to the individual soul.

Reincarnation is the framework that allows for karma to return to the soul. Reincarnation is also the framework that allows for souls to learn and improve upon the karma.

Our souls incarnate on the planet as humans in a body and we bring with us a piece of energy from our higher self or our larger soul.

While we’re on earth, we encounter some universal truths. One of those truths is free will. In other words, we have the free will to make choices while we’re on earth.

Higher self

Only a piece or a slice of our soul incarnates in a body or human form in one lifetime. As a result, there’s a part of our soul – called the higher soul or higher self – that remains outside of our human body.

We can develop a relationship with the higher self and can consult with it for guidance, wisdom, clarity, and purpose. By reconnecting to our higher self, we can release our energy blockages and live a life that is fully aligned with our soul’s plan and our true essence as a soul.

We connect to the higher self through meditation. Mediation brings us to a state of I am which is a state of pure being. This state of pure being is free of the human ego. When we meditate and seek guidance about our daily choices, we begin to alter our karma because we make decisions aligned with the soul.

Free will vs the soul plan

When we incarnate, our soul plan contains some markers in our lives that won’t change. Before we incarnate, we choose our parents/family, our key relationships, our economic status, health, abilities, time and place of birth, and major life lessons. Each choice is made to provide healing, learning and soul growth.

Not everything is pre-determined. While we’re in human form, we have free will and we can make choices about people, education, romantic partners, consumption of food, beverage, etc. We can take many journeys or choose many routes while we’re on earth. This is our free will and we can use it liberally.

However, when we deviate too far from our soul contract, our higher selves and our spirit guides send us signs and opportunities to direct us toward our path. These signs might include synchronicities, unexpected challenges, or encounters with people who remind us of our mission. Sometimes we receive nudges and sometimes, when we steer off track, we're rerouted back on track.

In essence, we choose our behaviours while we’re in body form and this is a part of our free will. Our choices will alter our karma, our level of consciousness, and our ability to ascend.

Primary character vs support role

In some cases, we’re the primary character in our incarnation (much like the main actor in a play) but sometimes we’re the supporting character. Sometimes, we agree to come to earth to help others with their karma and their lessons. For most of us, we don’t necessarily know what our soul roles are.  It's likely we're here for a bit of both. Primary character and support character. In other words, we're learning from our own actions and choices but also helping others to learn by pariticipating in their choices and actions.

There aren’t a whole lot of methods to help us understand what roles we play. To make better choices and align with our higher self and the spirit world, tools such as meditation, intuition, and watching for spiritual signs can help guide us. You might say that these tools are at the source of helping us clear our karma and develop our souls.

Human behaviours

At the root of it all, is how we choose to deal with our emotions and behaviours. How do we handle situations? Some will learn from using the human ego for decision making, while others respond from an intuitive place and handle situations from a place of knowing and/or guidance from the higher self.

Our behaviours are a result of our level of consciousness. It’s difficult to determine your own or someone else’s level of consciousness. Some people can be operating at higher levels than you may guess. Though they may appear to have vibrations from a lower level, they may be a higher being that is here for a specific reason. The being may be helping someone or the being may be here to have a specific experience so that they can further evolve. So, it’s important not to judge people.

As we come to understand that free will is a universal truth, we’ll also come to understand that judgement can get in our way or hinder us from ascending to higher levels of consciousness.

Level of consciousness and dimensions

When people die, their souls pass across the veil into the fourth dimension. If a person or a soul achieves a higher level of consciousness, it’s possible for them to ascend beyond the fourth dimension.

Responsibility of old souls

If you’re an old soul, you have more responsibility to serve as a guide and push humanity’s healing. As you resolve all your karma and move forward, you earn the opportunity to improve upon your karma and, ultimately, to ascend to a higher dimension where there is less separation.

As souls ascend to higher dimensions, souls don’t typically see themselves from the “I” perspective but rather from a “we” perspective. And, applying this perspective to the third dimension while we’re here can help humanity transform. Shifting from the personal perspective of “I” to the overall perspective of “we” can help advance humanity.

When you’re brought to your knees

When things aren’t going well and you’re brought to your knees, it’s likely the beginning of your spiritual awakening. Each individual is different but there’s a point where those who awaken spiritually are confronted with challenges – the challenges can be of all forms – and result in the journey called the dark night of the soul.

If you find yourself in a moment of despair and in a place where your life appears to be in complete ruins, it might not be what you think. You might think it’s the end. Rather, it might be a new beginning.

Surrounded around you are your soul pod members. They can be your parents, siblings, husband, children, and closest friends. However, not all of your siblings, children or family are necessarily in your soul pod. But, they're all likely part of your soul group.

Our soul works with a counsel of elders to build a soul plan and together, they all work with the members of the soul pod and larger soul group to agree to the plan. Each of us incarnates into our plan and then uses our free will (e.g. choices) to learn as we move forward through life.

Each soul pod is unique and can stay together for a very long time or they may part ways and move along as they achieve their goals and would like to work on new challenges and opportunities.

Our soul pod works with us, through a soul contract or agreement, and we incarnate to fulfill the soul plan and work on our plans together. We play a role for each other in order to achieve our soul’s plan. We also play roles for other souls around us. So, it’s hard to know exactly who is a soul pod member and who is a member of the larger soul group.
